What I Believe (part 10)

I believe that both Creationist and Evolutionist perspectives do a poor job of explaining our existence.

(We are here. On this planet. Breathing this air. We've made buildings. I'm typing on a computer. We drive cars that have engines lubricated with oil that run on gas combustion. I can fart. I can talk. I can sing. I can run. How wild is that? I don't think we're accidents. Humanity being here on this planet, living our lives is just too much for me to handle. I can't rationalize it. I would like a good explanation for why I'm here. Why we're here. How we got here.

And, to be honest, I don't feel like a Creationist or an Evolutionist can provide a complete answer to those questions. Maybe they do generally--but not when it comes to specifics.)

Which makes for interesting discussion about the heart of the question...(how are we here?). It's great that we ask questions like this, one's that we seem to have no resources to possibly answer. I believe the question should be asked, but our ability to solve such a conundrum should be honest and humble.

There is plenty that we can seem to know, and there simply is plenty of things we cannot figure out. Assuming we know everything is both dangerous and stupid. But not asking such unanswerable questions is equally dangerous and stupid.

Well, we're getting closer. You just have to be patient. It was just a little while back that science discovered DNA and now we have mapped the human genome. Science will get there. Meanwhile, creationists have had the same static story for 2500 years.

I don't think we'll ever answer this question. I don't think anyone can give an exhaustive explanation of how everything got here.

If Creationists/ID-ers say that the Creator put us here, then where did the Creator come from?

If Evolutionists say that we have evolved on this planet post-Big Bang, then where did the matter come from that condensed and caused the Big Bang?
